I our region we are witnessing a massive timing belt crumbling in all 1.2 cars from peguot/citroen in different kilometer range (some at 40,000 some at 90,000 some without pass until the timing belt change without any problem) This problem is leading to oil ways and vvt valve blockages sometimes can lead even to engine This is the official timing schedule. Neither Citroen nor the belt manufacturer will pay for a new engine if the belt, tensioner, pulley or water pump fails within this timeframe and destroys the engine. I'd recommend sticking to five years or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first). Most complaints we hear about occur between 60-100,000 miles and J85a.
