Yeah it kind of sucked that like all the premergers were irrelevant, but at least the prominent characters were good (with the exception of Harry imo). 2018 has like Shane Shonee and Brian and those are the only 3 I would say are truly great characters while 2019 has Pia Luke Abbey David and Janine. Guessing you're just talking about AU Survivor, because there has been a few U.S. ones, such as Francesca, Colton, Russell Swan, Caleb. And out of the 5 pre-mergers in this season, Phoebe was the biggest threat by a mile, so it makes sense. Plus the editing leaves too many invisible players who have “no personality” (David, Sam, Steve, Simon, Flick in all stars to name a few). I understand some people are better TV but with so much footage I think its just an excuse to make someone totally invisible. US survivor has this issue too but I feel its more prominent in AU survivor. As far as overall rankings, around the 21 - 30 range for me. The editing could have been better and some of the twists I didn't like. Still a solid season tho with a great winner. Kcd1077. • 2 yr. ago. 2018>Brains vs. Brawn>2017>2016>2019>All Stars. ChainChump. I'm on the last 20 minutes. Learned a lot. That was great, Dave’s Luke impersonation was hilarious. This was really good. It was nice to see David also calling out production at times - especially /w the filming of Lee and that whole situation. He didn't burn bridges but it was nice to see that being addressed. Same. After the disappointment of BvW, I'm a few bad HvV episodes away from just following the season through Survivor wiki and r/SpoiledSurvivor (and maybe skimming through the episodes themselves, the challenge department is the one good thing AUS Survivor still has). Last season's low quality was reflected in the ratings and the fact that The great thing about this is even if the big players go out early as per usual in All-Star seasons, the "lower tier" players are still great characters who can make a season fun. There's really no losing with this season. I think Australian Survivor 2019 is the finest season of Survivor put to television, 2017 being close up there as well. However, other seasons definitely don't fare as well. 2016 and All Stars' pre-merges were great; there was a lot of air-time for character development, but on the flipside, the amount of airtime becomes a real disadvantage David is legitimately an amazing player. He's probably the best Australian Survivor player, certainly played the best of all the players this season, and 100% deserving of the win. That said, he's unquestionably benefited - as Moana also has - from playing with a super risk adverse player in Sharn. It was the most boring season of Survivor I have ever watched. Your opinion will change about Kristie when you see the finale. She’s actually one of the most satisfying winners in survivor history. But it doesn’t change that it was one of the most boring seasons of the show in any country. I wouldn't call Kristie's win satisfying; Lee's AWRTRi.
