Seat Reservations. In Germany, only first-class train tickets include a seat reservation. If you travel second class, you have to pay a fee of €4.50 for every seat you wish to reserve. Especially on busy days, you may end up standing in the aisle or sitting on the ground if you travel without a reservation.
